For Dan Dawson, financial planning is personal. As an advisor, he has the ability to make a significant, positive impact on his clients' lives, and he takes that responsibility very seriously.

Dan got his professional start as an advisor trainee with Morgan Stanley (now Morgan Stanley Smith Barney) from 2004 to 2005. Soon after, he accepted a position with Raymond James and, in 2009, joined the McCormick Retirement Group.

A graduate of the University of Illinois, Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts in finance. Dan is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional – a respected certification that represents a thorough knowledge of the components of financial planning and the ability to apply that knowledge to real-life situations.

An Illinois native, Dan is originally from Homer Glen and currently resides in Chicago with his wife, Kristen. In his spare time, he enjoys playing volleyball, studying history and cooking.


Financial Industry Licenses

  • General Securities Representative — Series 7
    Qualifies a candidate for the solicitation, purchase and/or sale of all securities products, including corporate securities, municipal securities, municipal fund securities, options, direct participation programs, investment company products, and variable contracts.
  • Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination — Series 63 NASAA
    Qualifies candidates as securities agents. The examination covers the principles of state securities regulation reflected in the Uniform Securities Act.
  • Futures Managed Funds — Series 31
    Required for those who wish to receive trailing commissions on commodity limited partnerships, commodity pools or managed accounts.
